We are anticipating between 250 and 400 motorcycle riders to participate and are expecting riders from all over the West. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to ride some of the finest roads in the in Southern California.  With three days of great riding, rider oriented seminars and a few evening surprises, you can count on creating memories of a lifetime.  The goal is Ride, Relax and Have Fun!  So, start block off some time the middle of June of 2017.  This is a rally that you'll not want to miss.

  • Pre-Rally Passport Game - Starts March, upon receipt of Passport, see below for details
  •  Pre-Rally Riding Poker Run Game - Starts April 15, 2017, see below for details
  •  Vendor Mall (Gasoline Alley, Friday/Saturday June 16/17) - details noted on the Vendor Mail page
  • Multiple unescorted rides and routes (off mountain June 15/16/17)
  • Walking Poker Run (Saturday June 17 - Big Bear Village)
  • Bike Show (Saturday – Separate Entry)
  • Bike Games (Saturday mid-afternoon)
  • Frozen Tee Shirt Contest (Friday late-afternoon)
  • Nightly Mutual Lies and Social Gathering
  • Nightly Daily Pub-Crawl
  • Unique events planned for Women

 Daily check-in at The Lodge at Big Bear will be Thursday June 15th, Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th.  See schedule for specific hours and the location for registration and check-in.  The Closing Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday morning the 18th of June.

Rally Games.....

Bike Games

Bag in the Circle – Rider/Passenger, any type motorcycle.

One lane spotter and one starter required as officials.

1.             Passenger supplied with four bags.

2.             Passenger required to toss bags one at a time inside of individual tire circles. If bag is touching tire, bag is disqualified.

3.             Rider required to keep motorcycle upright, not stop, put feet down or cross over line.

4.             Passengers must face forward and keep their feet on the foot pegs or floorboards. 

5.             Run another heat to break any ties.

Tire Toss – Rider/Passenger, any type motorcycle.

One lane spotter and one starter required as officials.

1.             Passenger supplied with four tires.

2.             Passengers must throw tires over the cones

3.             Rider required to keep motorcycle upright, not stop, put feet down or cross over line.

4.             Passengers must face forward and keep their feet on the foot pegs or floorboards. 

5.             Run another heat to break any ties.

Ball Pick-Up – Rider/Passenger, any type motorcycle.

One lane spotter and one starter required as officials.

1.             Passengers must pick up balls from the top of cones.

2.             Rider required to keep motorcycle upright, not stop or put feet.

3.             Rider must control bike and not pick up ball.

4.             Passengers must face forward and keep their feet on the foot pegs or floorboards. 

5.             Passenger must alternate left and right hands to pick up balls.

6.             Run another heat to break any ties.

Ball Drop Off – Rider/Passenger, any type motorcycle.

One lane spotter and one starter required as officials.

1.             Passengers must place balls from the top of cones.

2.             Rider required to keep motorcycle upright, not stop or put feet.

3.             Rider must control bike and not pick up ball.

4.             Passengers must face forward and keep their feet on the foot pegs or floorboards. 

5.             Run another head to break any ties.

Slow Race – Man or Women Rider, any type motorcycle.

Two lane spotters and one starter required as officials.

1.             Participants line up one of three lanes.

2.             Upon start signal riders start at same time.

3.             Last person to reach the end without touching ground or traveling outside of lines wins.

4.             If you touch the ground or go outside lines, stop where you are and wait until race is completed.

5.             Front tire must cross the finish line, without fault, to win.

Walking Poker Run - Big Bear Village

The Walking Poker Run Game is designed for participants to play during the Golden State Rally (GSR) in Big Bear Lake, CA on June 17 only between 12 noon and 4 pm. 

A total of five cards must be drawn at five different locations with the ability to purchase two extra cards at the final location (The Lodge) on Saturday the 17th of June. 

The Rules of the Game:

1.      Only people who are registered for GSR are eligible to draw poker run cards. 

2.      Participants must obtain stamps at all five (5) locations, including The Lodge (final location).

3.      After all four locations in the Village have been visited and you have drawn a card at each location, a maximum of two extra cards can be purchased at The Lodge on Saturday the 17th of June.  Cost for one extra card is $3 and two extra cards is $5.  If one or two extra cards are purchased, one or two must be removed.

4.      Unique stamps will be used at each location and riders are not allowed to draw more than one card or obtain more than one stamp at each location.

5.      Ace can apply to both low (1) or high hands.

6.      Cash or prizes are awarded Sunday morning at the Closing Ceremony.

7.      Winners must be present at Closing Ceremony to win cash prizes.  No exceptions.

Entry Rules

  • Entry, check-in and registration is from 10 AM until 12 noon, Saturday June 17, 2017 in the parking lot of The Lodge.  Entries will not be accepted after 12 noon.
  • Only registered riders of Golden State Rally at Big Bear can enter a bike.
  • Bike show is open to all bikes.
  • Both registered riders and the public at large can view Bike Show entries.
  • During registration, each rider will pay a $10 entry fee, if they have not previously paid during the initial Rider Registration process.
  • Registered riders receive an entry number and are directed to their specific location for staging.
  • Once entered, riders may not remove motorcycles until the event is over at 5 PM.  Riders may leave their bikes in their staged location after the event is over.
  • Registration information required includes name, email, address, city, state, zip, year and model of bike, license number, and agreed upon category.  We need this info to contact the award winners should they not be present at the Closing Ceremony.
  • Each entry must be ridden into the registration and show areas to qualify for Bike Show entrance.

Exception: Exceptions to the "must be ridden" rule may be made at the discretion of the judges for very old, antique or unique bikes in the Classic category. We want to see old bikes!

  • Any Trailer Queen that slips past the registration crew or judges is not eligible for a First Place award. This is a RIDE IN SHOW.
  • Show voting is from 1 PM until 4 PM.
  • Judges review the bikes in each category to determine winner.
  • Anyone can vote for the People's Choice/Best of Show, one entry per person.
  • Awards for each category are given the following morning at the Closing Ceremony at The Lodge.
  • No fire-ups during duration of show.
  • No fuel or oil leaks allowed.
  • Fuel must be shut off while parked in show area.
  • Bikes may be combined into another category should there only be one entry in a category.

People's Choice/Best of Show

"People's Choice " is not a separate category. All bike entries are eligible for the People's Choice trophy, including bikes that win another category. This award is voted on by the general public at the show.

Bagger/Touring

Any motorcycle with saddlebags and comforts for longer rides, such as a fairing, windshield or tour-pack. Might also have heated grips, lower fairing, cruise control, GPS, or a stereo.  There is no limit (high or low) in cc’s or cubic inches for this category.

Classic (1987 and older)

Any motorcycle that was manufactured prior to 1988.

Rat, Dirty, Ugly, the Whatever Category

Any motorcycle that is junky, scrappy, odd, neglected, or abused looking. This can mean rusted finish, ugly paint, odd-ball accessories, or a hand-made, unfinished look. It should look like a bike that would fit in a rat's nest.

Sidecar/Trike

Any motorcycle that is DMV classified with more than 2 wheels.

Lady Rider

Any motorcycle that is ridden into the show by a female rider. This includes stock or custom bikes.

Bikes Under 1700 cc

Any motorcycle not fitting into the above categories. 

NOTE: each class requires a minimum of two motorcycles per class.  If there is not enough entires in any one class it is up to the judges to determine the best class for the particular motorcycle in question.  All decisions final by the judges.

Oldest T-Shirt Contest - Host Hotel Pool Parking Lot

Got an old tee shirt and want to win a prize.  Bring your oldest tee shirt that has either denotes any major brand of motorcycle on it.  It must have the year on the tee shirt to be a winner.  Prize awarded to the oldest shirt during the evening wrap up on Thursday afternoon at the Patio Party.

2nd Annual Frozen T-Shirt Contest - Host Hotel Pool

Since it will be a warm day the pool will be very welcoming. We have a Frozen T-Shirt contest planned (not to be confused with a “Wet Tee Shirt” contest).  Both men and women are welcome to play  The challenge is to take a frozen, folded tee shirt from a plastic bag and then using only your body parts separate the tee from the bag and put it on over your body.   Teams of at least 3 will play the game.  Each person will be given 30 seconds to warm up the bag, open it and put it over their body.  If the person is not able to get the t-shirt on their body within the 30 seconds they must pass it onto the next person.  The team that is able to remove the t-shirt from the bag and put on their body first will win the contest.

Pre-Rally Passport Game

The Pre-Rally Passport Game is designed for registered participants to play during the months of March through June 17th during Golden State Rally (GSR).  Only registered participants of GSR are eligible to participate.  You can begin playing just as soon as you receive the Passport.

The Rules of the Game:

  1. A total of 17 Dealerships are playing the game.  16 are located in Southern California, one in Kingman, AZ and one in Las Vegas, NV.
  2. Participants who pick up all 17 stamps will be entered into a raffle for a very special prize with a value between $300 and $500.
  3. Only people who are registered for GSR are eligible to play.
  4. Unique stamps will be used at each location.
  5. Prizes awarded Sunday morning the 18th of June at the Closing Ceremony.
  6. Winners must be present to win.  No exceptions.

Pre-Rally Riding Poker Run Game

The Pre-Rally Riding Poker Run Game is designed for registered participants to play during the months of April and May leading up to the Golden State Rally (GSR).  Only registered participants of GSR are eligible to participate.

The Rules of the Game

  3. A maximum of two extra cards can be purchased in Big Bear on Saturday the 17th of June.  Cost for one extra card is $3 and two extra cards is $5.  If one or two extra cards are purchased, one or two must be removed.
  4. Unique stamps will be used at each location and participants are not allowed to draw more than one card or obtain more than one stamp at each location.
  5. A total of five (5) Harley-Davidson Dealerships are participating and each rider or passenger playing the game must visit a minimum of four to be eligible to win.  
  6. If a rider or passenger only visits four of the five dealerships, the fifth card may be drawn in Big Bear on Saturday the 17th of June at The Lodge.
  7. Ace can apply to both low (1) or high hands.
  8. Cash prizes awarded Sunday morning at the Closing Ceremony.
  9. Winners must be present at Closing Ceremony to win cash prizes.  No exceptions.
  10. Prizes for both high and low hand are valued between $300 and $500.
